Cherry Electrical Products offers the G80-8113 full-size keyboard that integrates both a magnetic stripe reader that reads track 1 & 2 and a touch pad with two mouse buttons directly into the keyboard. These space-saving, point-of-sale features make the G80-8113 ideal for POS, credit card, loyalty program, healthcare, banking, hospitality, inventory control, and membership/ID applications. The two-button touch pad is a unique Cherry feature that eliminates the need for a separate, or standalone, pointing device at a POS workstation. Not only does this offer a significant space saving at the terminal, it also simplifies communication between the operator and the PC. To move the cursor, the operator need only slide their finger across the touch pad; to select items, the operator simply taps the touch pad. The ruggedly designed, lightweight keyboard consists of 120 keys. The keyboard's reliability is enhanced through use of Cherry MX switches. These key switches have uniquely constructed solid gold "cross-point" contacts that provide maximum contact pressure. They are also configured to provide minimum contact closure interference from foreign particles. Use of Cherry MX switches provides each key with a service life of greater than 50 million keystrokes.
