Cherry's MultiBoard keyboards 7000/8000 keyboards are a family of data input systems that combine the functions of keyboard, magnetic stripe card reader and smart barcode decoder in a single device. The integrated magnetic stripe card reader is designed as a swipe reader, capable of reading 100% of the information held on cards conforming to ISO 7812. The optional integrated barcode decoder works with all standard barcode readers such as wands, laser scanners and CCD scanners, as well as barcode swipe readers. Data is transferred between keyboard and system through the keyboard port - no other interfaces are required. So despite the fact that each input system comprises several components (keyboard, magnetic stripe card reader, barcode decoder), only the computer's keyboard port is occupied. The system does not need any other interfaces. Over and above features such as the expected Cherry quality and an attractive design, this integrated model represents a cost-efficient solution that needs no additional driver software. G81-7000 is the compact version that combines the functionality of the G81-8000 with a space-efficient housing.
